Events

A gathering place for library workers ready to reclaim joy, balance, and boundaries in their professional lives. Three days of presentations, conversations, and community, every year.

What to Expect

ThriveLib is a virtual conference created by librarians, for librarians. Well-being is not one topic among many here; it is the only topic. Every session, every speaker, and every conversation is focused on the emotional, psychological, and physical realities of library work.

Each year’s conference runs across three days, with live keynotes, interactive sessions, and panel discussions hosted on Zoom. All registered attendees receive access to session recordings for 30 days after the event, certificates of attendance for every session watched live or on demand, and opportunities to connect with library workers across roles, institution types, and regions.

ThriveLib is built around a different model than most professional conferences. All speakers are paid for their time and expertise. Tickets are offered on a sliding scale to keep the event accessible. We are not affiliated with any organization or institution, just committed to the people who sustain our libraries every day.

Who should attend

ThriveLib is for anyone who works in libraries — public, academic, school, or special. It is designed for library workers at every level, from frontline staff to middle managers to senior leaders. If you are navigating burnout, compassion fatigue, invisible labor, or simply looking for tools to build a more humane workplace culture, ThriveLib is for you.

Registration and pricing

ThriveLib uses a three-tier sliding scale to make the conference as accessible as possible while supporting our ability to pay speakers fairly.

Subsidized — $75

For library and information science students and library workers who are unemployed or underemployed. No proof required — use this rate if you genuinely need it.

Standard — $100

The regular ticket price for most attendees. Your registration helps cover event costs and ensures speakers are compensated fairly for their expertise and time.

Pay It Forward — $125

For those with the means to give a little more. Your generosity makes subsidized tickets possible for others and helps build a more equitable community.

All tiers include full live access to the conference, 30-day on-demand recordings, and certificates of attendance. For group discounts on 10 or more registrations, contact ThriveLib@gmail.com.

Community Standards

ThriveLib is committed to a welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants. We welcome people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities and expressions, sexual orientations, abilities, ages, socioeconomic statuses, and educational backgrounds. Our diversity strengthens our community.

All participants, speakers, organizers, and attendees are expected to use respectful, inclusive language, honor names and pronouns, listen actively, and engage in ways that support psychological safety and collective care.

AI notetakers are not permitted in any sessions. If you use a tool that automatically joins meetings, you are responsible for disabling it before the event. Failure to do so is a Code of Conduct violation.

Anyone found to be in violation of the Code of Conduct will be removed from sessions. No refunds will be issued for conduct-related removals. To report an incident, notify a session host directly or email ThriveLib@gmail.com — monitored during all live events.
